No substitute for Experience

A new management information system promises underwriting teams a new experience that will transform their business.

Developed by TriSystems, Experience claims to eliminate the need to wade through mountains of paperwork to find key information.

TriSystems director Jeff Ward said: "For decades underwriters have had to analyse claims experience and underwriting performance using piles of paper. With Experience, what were laborious and lengthy processes involving pages and pages of figures can now be achieved automatically in a matter of seconds. Re-keying data into spreadsheets is now a thing of the past."

The system interprets information in the form of development triangulation's and graphs, together with powerful statistical projection facilities, directly at the underwriter's desktop. The solution can be interfaced in to any existing database. It has been under trial at Janson Green, a subsidiary of LIMIT, since March.

IT manager Ron Sterry said: "We've long since recognised the importance of management information in underwriting decision making, and how vital it is to provide our people at the sharp end with the support they need.

"We've been developing our own 'In fact, we've been developing our own proprietary underwriting information suite with support from TriSystems for over a year and expect Experience to be a key component'.
